In 2007 Green Cities Fund arranged for the nomination of Cuban Medical Workers for the Nobel Peace Prize by Congressperson Barbara Lee and noted doctor and Harvard Medical School professor Paul Farmer. In 2026, joining with the Editors of The Nation magazine, it is encouraging the nomination of the brave people of Minnesota for the Prize in support of The Nation’s nomination statement, which includes the words:
“Through countless acts of courage and solidarity, the people of Minneapolis have challenged the culture of fear, hate, and brutality that has gripped the United States and too many other countries. Their nonviolent resistance has captured the imagination of the nation and the world.”
