Over a decade ago Green Cities Fund came to the aid of a small group of Kayah ethnic minority Burmese who found themselves isolated in Oakland, California with little support. They were a long way from their mountainous home among green forests and streams in the Kayah state in eastern Burma and nobody spoke their language. Like Gaza their relatives in Burma must constantly move from place to place while under attack by the military government airplanes and soldiers. Through their families here Green Cities Fund is able to provide direct humanitarian assistance to church organizations and individual refugee families under attack in Burma.
