Mongolian Artisan Cheesemakers Union

The Mongolian Artisan Cheesemakers Union (MACU) was created in 2015 by journalist Michael Morrow (his reporting from Vietnam helped uncover the My Lai Massacre). Morrow recognized that Mongolian livestock produces millions of gallons of surplus milk which, instead of going to waste, can be utilized and increase farm income with the production of artisan cheese for export.  MACU encourages the organization of farmer cooperatives to produce small batch artisan cheeses and aids in their international distribution.
